Cooking on a Budget: Potatoes and Green Beans

College is expensive, and most students don't have enough money to eat out everyday or cook expensive meals. Some students have meal plans but they are not fond of the food served in their schools. Here is one of the easiest and cheapest recipe college students can make that will last them for a couple of days.


How to make Potatoes and Green Beans



Ingredients

Frozen green beans: $1.27

Olive oil: $5.47

Potatoes: $4.26

Butter: $2.68

Shrimp (optional): $4.99

Salt: $1.00

Total: $19.67




Direction

1. Peel potatoes and put in a pot to boil

2. Add salt to potatoes

3. Wash green beans and shrimp

4. Heat up pan and add olive oil

5. Once olive oil is hot, add shrimp and fry for five minutes

6. Add your choice of seasoning

7. Add two spoons of butter and wait for it to melt

8. Stir until shrimp is fully cooked

9. Add green beans and a cup of water

10. Add salt and other seasoning

11. Cover and leave it to cook for 15 minutes

12. Serve with potatoes and enjoy!
